Notice on server security May 2010

Last year we had a migration of customers from saw2.nidelven-it.no, due to finding a rootkit on the server and performance issues.

We believed we posted a notice on our weblog about this issue, but looking through the archives it seems we did not post a notice. A mention of security issues was done to customers who had to participate in the migration process from saw2.

We will also send out this notice on email to those who were saw2 customers so that the customers may do a check on their own sites if they see it necessary.

We apologize for not giving a full notice earlier.

[Update] We have not gotten any reports from customers who were on saw2 that their security has been breached. So our assumption that this rootkit installation was a simple botnet/spamnet setup seems to be correct.
